On September 22nd, the launch ceremony for the Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) and FAWDE cooperation project was held at the Dachai plant of the Powertrain Division. Attendees included Emmanuel Gapolite, Head of Powertrain Technology at Volvo CE; Liu Peng, Deputy General Manager of the Powertrain Division and Director and Party Secretary of the Dachai plant; Mi Xidong, Deputy General Manager of the Powertrain Division and General Manager of the FAWDE Marketing Center; Chang Mingsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union of the Dachai plant; Jin Zhe, Off-Highway Powertrain (PDT) Manager; and project team members. The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in deepening cooperation and expanding into the global market.
As the countdown began, representatives from both parties pressed the start button, and the 6M2012 product, carried by an AGV, slowly rolled out, marking the official launch of the cooperation project. The project launch not only marks the integration of Dachai products into the global market but also demonstrates the technological strength and collaborative innovation capabilities of both parties in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
In his speech, Emmanuel Gapolite emphasized that "ensuring product quality and achieving customer satisfaction" is the core goal of the future cooperation between the two parties. During a recent field visit, Volvo representatives visited the Dachai plant's production workshops, carefully observing the entire production process and experiencing the plant's core strength in high-end powertrain manufacturing. He also noted that this partnership was hard-won, having been built over four years by both parties. As a global leader in the construction machinery industry, Volvo Group is renowned for its stringent supplier selection standards. This partnership is not only a high recognition of FAWDE's comprehensive strength, but also a powerful testament to the mutual trust and win-win situation between the two parties.
Liu Peng reviewed the long-standing collaboration between FAWDE and Volvo Construction Equipment. He stated that this joint project will provide Volvo Construction Equipment with robust and reliable power solutions, helping both parties seize strategic opportunities in the international market and gain widespread market recognition. The Dachai plant will uphold a rigorous and pragmatic work style to ensure the efficient implementation of the collaborative project and the achievement of its goals, injecting lasting momentum into the long-term, mutually beneficial development of both parties.
The launch of the Volvo Construction Equipment-FAWDE collaboration represents the fruit of complementary strengths and collaborative innovation, and is a vivid example of deepening international cooperation in China's industrial manufacturing sector. According to the plan, the project will enter mass production in the first quarter of 2027, with an estimated 4,000 units released to the market in 2028. Both parties will leverage this collaboration to further deepen their presence in the global construction machinery market, drive technological innovation in the industry, and jointly write a new chapter of win-win cooperation in the construction machinery sector.
